CURRENT EVENTS

It is the middle of February and we are stuck in a deep freeze. When the high temperature for the day is at -26o C, you know it is cold.

During the 3rd weekend of this month we will be talking my Mom from Altona and visiting our children and 3 grandsons in Regina Saskatchewan. We are anticipating a little nicer weather for that. The last time we got together was at Christmas, and the first time that my Mom saw her twin great grandsons was last summer.

Below is a family picture taken during this visit; as you run your mouse over the picture you will see a picture of Granny holding one of her great-grandsons.
She was totally enthralled with them every chance she had she made sure to interact with each one; including Carson, her first great-grandson.

Just to make sure that we don't forget, our first grandson was Carson, and we seem to have been able to connect with him and is willing to interact with us upon our arrival. We try to bring him some little gift; I think it is because we miss him so much when we don’t see him that we want to by all means possible communicate our love for him. On a visit that Lynn had in Regina, when she went there for a seminar on abuse to help her do a better job at counseling. Lynn began her counselling work in 1994 and is quite gifted in working with very broken and wounded people, specializing in sexual abuse victims. You may check this out at Crocus Counselling Centre.
Back to the story, while playing with Carson she captured our little drummer boy on video. At the end of the video, make sure to press pause and capture that sweet smile as he looks up to his grandmother.

Although I have only been in full time ministry for the last three years, (as a pastor at Calvary Chapel) and even though I am incredibly attached to my family, my true identity is defined by who I am in Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. The more I live for Him and in obedience to His revealed word, the Bible, the more I become conformed to His image, and the less of a jerk I become.
